Holiday Inn Harbourside, hotel that saved the day!

This past weekend my bride called me 2 days before her wedding to let me know she was in town and her venue was being moved.   She hadn’t read her contract thoroughly from the restaurant she was having her dinner at and her count had dropped to about half.    There was a food and beverage minimum to be met and she was now short a couple thousand dollars from making it.   She was told she could add on some additional hors d’oeurves and drinks, something to make up the minimum due.  This again, is very common with most places if not all of them.  For this bride, she was just not aware and  did not have the additional funds on her since she was calculating  to pay  for her new guest count.    She had offered to pay after the fact and send money that following Monday but I can reassure you there are not many places that will allow this honor system including her selected place.

This is quite normal for a contract but for her it was not a good experience.  She wishes that the company would have let her know about the minimum before hand, but it is still in the contract and she also realizes it was her mistake as well.  When she was discussing her plans to book maybe they should have explained better.

Conclusion, she moved venues to Holiday Inn Harbourside, Indian Rocks Beach, day before her wedding & lost her deposit at first place .   Let this be a free helpful lesson to all brides getting ready to start booking.  Please ask questions and read your contracts!
