Wedding day

  • Posted on September 30, 2011 at 8:50 am

There are so many things that a bride gets involved in for the day of her wedding. If you can just think ahead and have all accomplished but these few things:

* Morning of, eat a good protein breakfast and then eat small meals throughout the day as needed.

* Your hair and make-up should be timed so that you are just finishing  when photographer arrives.

Then just relax with your bridal party.

1-3 days before wedding

  • Posted on September 30, 2011 at 8:49 am

It’s almost here and there are a few items that you should  be completing:

*Get all tips you are giving for vendors in their envelopes and marked.  Assign someone in your family to hand out day of.

* Bridal manicures and pedicures unless you are doing day of with hair and make-up.

*All counts are finalized with vendors for food and beverage and if required, balances are paid in full.

*you should have someone picked & in charge of table place cards and guests trinkets for the reception tables if providing any.  Go ahead and give to them.  It can also be the coordinator of your hotel if holding at one.

2 -3 months prior to Wedding

  • Posted on September 30, 2011 at 8:46 am

By now your day has come together except for a few pampering areas that you may want to think of.

*Facials: If you can afford, try and get one once a month for at least 3 months leading up to your wedding.  Make sure your last one is 2 weeks  from the big day.

*Manicures: You should have had 2-3 few before your final one to have your cuticles in great shape and nails establish  a nice look.  Try and keep short and square for a  perfect finish.

*Hair:  Hot oil treatments and a good cut each month will keep your hair in the best shape possible for styling day of.  Plan an appointment about one month out for a trial run with salon you are choosing to style your hair the day of your wedding.  Also girls with longer hair, if you can get in a habit of not tying hair back with hair bands for a good 3 months, it will help with breakage.

Great Beach Idea

  • Posted on September 22, 2011 at 11:18 am

If you want to add a more personal touch to your beach wedding, here is a good one.  Add an isle of pictures hanging from a string that runs across wood posts, bamboo stanchions or long pieces of drift wood.  Look for 10 or so pictures of each of you from childhood to present.  Have them made into 8 X 10 size pictures, clip them on the clothesline (should be at eye level) with what else clothes pins or incorporate your own ideas to personalize even more.

Personalized Beach Wedding “Thank you” Cards

  • Posted on September 21, 2011 at 5:44 pm

After all your guests, family and bridal party have left the beach and it is just the 2 of you and your photographer taking the last of your pictures, save time for one extra.   Go down by the water, not to far, and write a big “THANK YOU” in the sand.  Then pose behind or by it’s side ( photographer can help ) then take a photo and use for your thank you cards.

Ideas for Wedding favors

Few ideas that can be incorporated for more than one use is finding a favor that will also be used as a table card.

Try mini potted herb plants like Rosemary or Lavender.  You can tie a small tag with individuals/couples name & table number on,  maybe with a ribbon or even some yarn.  The fragrance is great.

Also Bamboo arches, used for Beach Ceremonies, are very popular, why not bring the theme in &  buy mini bamboo plants for your favors & again you can put names & table numbers on with your own creative touch.

If your beach ceremony is around the holidays,  a  small table tree to hang individual ornaments on with names & table numbers also attached is a great gift.   They sell the clear ornaments you can fill with a small amount of sand (colored or white) &  add a few small shells.   Also small white decorated starfish ornaments are fun as well.   Buy plain, add a bit glitter with tag & hang on the tree.

Beach Ceremony Package Needs

  • Posted on September 15, 2011 at 8:23 am

There are many things a bride dreams of for her perfect beach wedding.  Problem is, does your budget allow it?  Here are some important needs (not wants) that you should look for in a beach ceremony package:

The Arch and decor provided  (this is where all your pictures are centered around)

Is there an officiant? – ( Usually provided )

Music provided? – (this can save from DJ expenses if you had to hire one just for a 30 minute ceremony)

Chairs (what kind and do they need covering or in good shape?)

Isle way decor (many companies offer choices so you don’t need extras)

And a coordinator for ceremony–  Making sure there is someone greeting your guests, walking in the bridal party and helping lead guests after it’s all over to your reception.

If you have these areas covered in your packet, you will not need much else. Then you can start making a list of wants in order of most desired and see how far your budget allows you to go.

Men’s Formal Wear VS Casual

  • Posted on September 14, 2011 at 7:24 am

When choosing the wedding attire for your guys, please keep in mind the month of your beach wedding.   When the weather is hot, (May-September)  there is the linen casual/dressy look.  Try white linen shirts and khaki/tan pants or maybe white pants and a colored dress shirt, not buttoned up without tie, keeping it beachy casual.  As the temperature starts cooling down, more breezes on the beach, light colored suits are usually a good choice and if your date is in the December – February months, any suits including the darker colors, staying away from the light causal linen look.

Dillards and Macy’s both carry men’s casual linen lines
